Today is action-packed with visits to the Blue Mosque, particularly noted for its use of tiles as a sacred decorative element in Ottoman Islamic architecture; The Hippodrome, the major surviving example of the very first phase of Constantinople’s development; a Cruise on the mighty Bosphorous by local ferry or private boat viewing marble palaces and ancient wooden villas of Ottoman architecture.
After lunch at the aromatic Spice Bazaar continue to the Suleymaniye Mosque, built by master architect Sinan and the marvellous Yerebatan Underground Cistern of Justinian.
